I am a homebirth midwife in the Denver area since 1987. I offer complete prenatal care, attendance at your birth and postpartum followup. Waterbirths are also a choice with two portable birth tubs available for my clients. I offer counseling in nutrition, breastfeeding and herbs in the childbearing year as well as homebirth preparation classes. I am a classically-trained homeopath and in 2002 I added craniosacral therapy to my practice.
Education and empowerment, coupled with informed consent are the foundations of my practice. I strive to provide a safe space for every woman to find the body knowledge within herself to birth her baby. I do this to change world - one woman, one baby, one birth at a time.
I am a mom, partner, midwife, learner, doer, teacher, warrior princess. Not necessarily in that order.
I attend births in the Denver area, including Lakewood, Golden, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Thornton, Northglenn, Broomfield, Boulder, Evergreen and Conifer. I am willing to travel further to areas with no midwives.
I am proud to be a founding member of the Colorado Alliance of Independent Midwives, a new professional midwifery association based on consensus and promoting the apprentice-based midwifery model in Colorado. I offer a basic midwifery course with hand-on skills workshops. I also offer apprenticeships for qualified students.
COLORADO NEEDS MORE MIDWIVES!

I am currently in school and about to graduate with a BA in Biology. I would love to know how to continue my education to become a midwife without going to be an RN. Is this possible?

Not Entered
I currently live in FL, however may be moving to CO for my husband's job. Not necessarily a bad thing as I was born and raised in Arvada, however am pregnant and apprehensive about leaving my current midwife. Thrilled to see homebirth/waterbirth is available in CO.
