Wyoming will always be my home, but the legal status of midwifery there makes it impossible to practice in peace. I have been working out of Billings, Montana for several years now. Wyoming families are welcome to come and stay at the Mountain Midwives Center in Billings, and birth their babies there, in a home-like setting. Prenatal care is also available there. See the description of my practice, listed on the Birthpartners website, under "Montana". -Pat Schwaiger, RN, LM

I found your site as I was searching for nurse midwirery as a profession in the future. I am drawn to Wyoming and was sad when I read your comment about the difficulties of practicing in the state of WY. I will do further research to see what this entails. Congrats on your practice, I'm sure it's amazing!
