Community Midwives LLC is a holistic midwifery practice run by Certified Professional Midwife Juanita Nelson. With offices in Durango, Colorado and Aztec, New Mexico, Juanita does births in the entire Four Corners area. Comprehensive, personalized midwifery care empowers women to achieve their ideal birth. Services include complete prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. Water births and VBAC's are a specialty as well as nutritional and herbal support throughout the childbearing years. Ongoing,weekend intensive childbirth classes are available. She provides breastfeeding support and counseling. Well woman care, annual exams, and pap smears are also provided.
Juanita has over 30 years of midwifery knowledge to share with over 1000 birth experiences in her career. She represents the Four Corner's most experienced practice in home and center births. She is licensed in both Colorado and New Mexico, is a Certified Professional Midwife, a clinical herbalist, and an international educator of midwives and parents. "I believe in the natural process of birth and every woman's ability to give birth and parent with a profound sense of trust in the process. I am passionate about educating parents and aspiring midwives to the joys of natural childbirth."
